EthStorage Partner with Taiko to Offer Long-Term DA Solution
EthStorage, the modular and decentralized storage Layer 2 solution, announced a strategic partnership with Taiko, the fully permissionless, Ethereum-equivalent rollup to offer a long-term DA solution.
EIP-4844 represents an important step in Ethereum’s journey to scale in a decentralized way. More specifically, it helps scale Ethereum by introducing a new “BLOB-carrying” transaction type. However, the BLOB will be downloaded and stored solely by Ethereum’s consensus layer (CL, aka beacon nodes), and only for a limited period of time (~18 days, typically). As a result, we cannot derive the latest state of L2 unconditionally from Ethereum L1 after L1 prunes the BLOBs.
Taiko is an L2 that derives its security from Ethereum. With the long-term available BLOBs enabled by EthStorage, an L2 like Taiko can derive its latest L2 state even if the BLOBs are pruned by the Ethereum protocol.
Through our collaboration, EthStorage will provide Taiko with a long-term DA solution of EIP-4844 BLOBs and thus help Taiko better derive Ethereum security even if the BLOBs are discarded in 18 days.
About EthStorage
EthStorage is a modular and decentralized storage Layer 2 that offers programmable key-value storage powered by DA. It enables long-term DA solutions for Rollups and opens up new possibilities for fully on-chain applications like games, social networks, AI, etc.
About Taiko
Taiko is a fully permissionless and decentralized Ethereum-equivalent ZK-Rollup. This means using Taiko is exactly the same as using Ethereum. Not only does Taiko support all EVM opcodes, but it supports the full JSON-RPC execution client API.
